Robotic Felt Assembly Station

FiXar developed an advanced robotic assembly station for the automated bonding of felt material onto the base structure of automotive carpet components. The system was designed to combine high production efficiency with operational flexibility and ergonomic operator interaction.

The station features an intelligent L-shaped layout, enabling operators to safely load and unload components on one side of the cell while the robot simultaneously performs the bonding process on the opposite side. This configuration minimizes downtime and significantly improves overall production throughput.

To support multiple product variants, the station is equipped with exchangeable fixtures that allow quick adaptation to different carpet part types with minimal changeover time. This flexible setup increases manufacturing efficiency while reducing production interruptions during model changes.

The robotic bonding process ensures consistent adhesive application and repeatable assembly quality, contributing to improved product reliability and reduced manual handling variability. An integrated HMI (Human Machine Interface) provides operators with clear process visualization, production status monitoring, and intuitive control over machine functions and diagnostics.
