How we work

We turn your specifications into high-performance engineering. From design to FAT/SAT validation and long-term support, FiXar ensures your machinery excels throughout its entire lifecycle.

FiXar Project Approach: From Concept to Commissioning

Kick-off

We map your project in full, technically, organisationally and contractually. Planning, expectations and interfaces are clearly aligned from the start, leaving no room for interpretation or surprises. This can be done remotely or on-site.

Mechanical Engineering

We translate the approved concept into a manufacturable 3D mechanical design using CATIA or SolidWorks. We build the 3D structure, dimension components and materials, and define tolerances and references.

At the same time, we assess manufacturability, assembly, ergonomics and maintainability. You receive released 2D drawings and BOMs as the basis for production and assembly.

Automation Engineering

In this phase, we further develop the control and automation concept. We define the hardware architecture (PLC, safety, I/O, drives and networks), create electrical and pneumatic schematics, and select the appropriate sensors and actuators.

In parallel, we develop PLC and HMI software and implement the safety concept in line with applicable standards. The result is a stable, maintainable automation system that integrates seamlessly with the mechanical design and is ready for assembly and commissioning.

Design Approval

Before execution starts, we review the concept and detailed design together with you. Mechanics, automation architecture, safety concepts, tolerances and interfaces are validated against agreed specifications and standards.

Your feedback is immediately incorporated and any changes are formally documented. After final approval, the design is released for procurement, production and assembly.

Production

FiXar translates the approved design into physical components and modules. Parts are manufactured in-house or by selected partners, after which each incoming component is carefully inspected and processed.

Through strict quality control and full traceability, we ensure all subassemblies are ready on time, correct and fully compliant with specifications.

Assembly

We build the complete installation in-house according to the approved design. After assembling and aligning the mechanical structures, all electrical and pneumatic components are professionally installed and wired.

Following thorough safety and quality checks, the system is prepared for power-up. The result is a stable and reliable system, ready for testing.

3D Measurement & Geometrical Verification (fixtures)

For fixtures, we guarantee accuracy through geometrical verification against the nominal CAD model. Using a CMM or 3D measurement system, we precisely measure all functional points, references and clamping surfaces.

Any deviations are corrected immediately through fine adjustment or shimming. Once repeatability is confirmed, you receive a formal measurement report for final release.

Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)

During FAT, your machine or fixture undergoes a full in-house validation. In a representative test setup, we verify all mechanical functions, software and safety concepts (PL/SIL) in detail.

By simulating multiple cycles and fault scenarios, we ensure reliability. After validation and reporting, the system is formally released for transport and installation.

Installation

FiXar manages the full installation at your site. We integrate the system seamlessly into your existing production or measurement environment and handle all required utility connections.

Through precise positioning and alignment, the machine or fixture is perfectly integrated with surrounding systems. After initial checks, the system is ready for commissioning and SAT.

Training

Through structured knowledge transfer, we prepare your operators and technicians for optimal system use. They are trained on operation, safety functions and HMI usage, while maintenance training focuses on troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
With hands-on exercises and clear documentation, your team can operate the system safely, efficiently and independently.

Site Acceptance Test (SAT)

During SAT, we validate system performance together with you in the real production or measurement environment. All functions, safety systems and interfaces are tested to ensure repeatability.

Any remaining points from FAT are finalised. After formal approval, the system is fully released for operational use.

After-SAT Support

FiXar remains involved after delivery. We support production start-up, monitor performance and resolve any remaining issues quickly and effectively.

Where needed, we provide fine-tuning and optimisation. With technical support, documentation updates and maintenance advice, we ensure your system continues to perform reliably throughout its lifecycle.

FRequently asked questions

No, FiXar is not limited to the automotive and aerospace industries. While we have extensive experience and a strong track record in both sectors, our expertise also extends to the pharmaceutical, steel, construction, retail, and food industries.

Our solid automotive background has shaped a highly professional and structured way of working, enabling us to bring the same level of quality, efficiency, and commitment to every industry we serve.

Yes. Even when the project specifications are not yet fully defined, FiXar can prepare a budget offer based on the information currently available. This budget offer can be revised at a later stage once additional project details, documentation, or technical specifications are provided.

Most projects start with the following documentation:

  • CAD files of the product for which the tooling, fixture, or automation is required
  • 2D and/or 3D measurement documentation, especially for fixture projects
  • The customer specification sheet or project requirements

The more information you can provide, the more detailed and accurate our quotation can be.

If no documentation is available yet, FiXar can visit your facility to review the application together and define the project requirements on-site.

Yes. FiXar delivers projects for clients both locally and internationally. We are used to working according to international standards and integrating systems into existing production environments worldwide.

Yes. FiXar provides training for both operators and maintenance personnel.

The training approach and the number of training sessions are agreed together with the customer, based on the project scope, equipment complexity, and the customer’s specific requirements.

Yes. FiXar remains involved after delivery through start-up support, optimisation, technical assistance and maintenance advice. This ensures that the industrial automation system continues to perform reliably throughout its lifecycle.

Traceability and data logging are integrated through data exchange with existing systems, such as MES platforms. This allows production data, process parameters and quality information to be automatically recorded and monitored.

Yes. FiXar integrates industrial automation systems into both new installations and existing production lines. We align with existing PLC architectures and, where required, connect to MES systems for data logging, traceability and production monitoring.

FiXar delivers integrated industrial automation systems, from analysis and concept engineering to build, validation and post-delivery support. We combine mechanics, automation and software into stable systems that perform reliably in serial production environments.
