Automated station developed for the pneumatic pressing and assembly of components into automotive bumpers, ensuring consistent force application, accurate positioning and reliable process quality throughout the production cycle.
For this automotive assembly application, FiXar developed a fully automated pneumatic pressing station for the assembly of various components into automotive bumpers. The solution was specifically designed to replace a previously manual process in which operators were required to apply repetitive physical force during assembly operations.
The original manual workflow created significant ergonomic challenges for operators due to the continuous wrist and arm movements required to press components into the bumper structure. Over time, this resulted in physical strain, repetitive stress injuries and operator absence caused by sickness leave. In addition to the ergonomic impact, the manual process also introduced variability in pressing force and assembly consistency.
To eliminate these challenges, FiXar engineered an automated station using controlled pneumatic pressing technology. The system applies a precise and repeatable pressing force to ensure that all components are assembled correctly and consistently within the required tolerances. Dedicated positioning fixtures and guiding systems guarantee accurate alignment of both the bumper and assembled features throughout the process.
